Dear Friends!

I have quite a bunch of Intermountain 1937 AAR box cars with Youngstown steel doors. As much as I love the plastic kits, as poorly modelled are door lever and lock. With the prototype information provided by Gene Deimling I was able to draw correct scale parts in 3D.

I've printed these in resin on my trusty Elegoo Saturn printer using standard settings. I really like the outcome, they look better than I thought, the parts are really small but they certainly add to realism and make a huge difference on the model.

Should you be interested, I have uploaded the files to my website www.trainkitchen.com/downloads

The design is good for single doors but I just have this double door project going on so I put it in place with a little trimming of the backside of the prints. This is so much fun!

Happy modelling

Sarah

Since no one else has said this, I want to thank you for making the 3D files available to all on your website.  The end results do look very nice!

Thank you all!

There's so much cooperation in our hobby and I'm really getting all the input and help from the group. O scale lives through the community and together we are strong, no matter how many rails
