I think that the HO drawing is an indication of the wiring situation for a single track loop and how the right and left rail will meet.   

In 2 rail you have to insulate a reversing loop, and wire it so you can reverse polarity while a train is in the loop.

I was working on this when I turned in last night.  This uses all 048 for the outer loop and all 036 for the inner loop.

That is indeed a single-track 2-rail reversing loop for Azatrax polarity switching hardware. Such hardware isn't necessary in a 3-rail reverse loop. That said, Gilly and Moonman have posted excellent examples of FasTrack solutions.

The OP's (Lionelrookie1992) question is not about wiring - it is about function - to transform that layout feature into FasTrack for 3 -rail use. The discussion of polarity just isn't relevant to 3 rail.

The beauty of the crossover reverse loop  is that it provides options for a single line layout to look like much more as the train moves around the line.

The open ends of the loops can be connected together somewhere or go to different areas, each with its own reverse loop, to provide multiple destinations.

I will not / cannot argue where the OP got the sketch. However, as soon as the word "FasTrack" was used, the conversation moved into 3 rail land. One reason for 3 rail was to avoid the polarity issues associated with 2 rail.

I did this in HO with flex track. You could possibly use atlas o flex track and mate it to the fast track.

Here is another version, using O-48 turnouts.   O48 around the outer loop, O36 around the inside.  Three O84 and one O96 for the smooth curve starting the outer loop at the bottom.

I like the easement effect.   Just a small mod to add a bit of O48 (or better) leading every curve.

Trains rated for O36 minimum should roll smoothly through these loops with the O48 turnouts and easements.   This is just 3" wider than Moonman's good 4'6" version at the top of the thread, a small price to pay IMO for O48 turnouts rather than O36.  

I'm not sure of the purpose of the track arrangement.  It is just a return loop with a passing siding.  Perhaps this is what Bryan has in mind,

Jan,  I am changing my layout again and I liked the crossover and thought I might implement in to new design.  The 'crossover" was the key part. 

Thanks Ken for the easment plans too.  I will put an O-60 on the outside, so I can have two trains running.    I have 18' to work with, I think that will be just enough length
