The incomplete C&C was dismantled to allow repair to a wall. That's the bad news. The Good news is that I am going to take advantage of that to build a Corry and Columbus that is more challenging to operate, beginning with the Columbus end and heading gradually back to Corry. DCC control will remain as well as carefully blocked working signals. This will be primarily single track with passing sidings at North Corry (which existed) and Scott's Crossing Road(which the original 1909 C&C had no siding at). The Creamery siding and the main drag in Columbus will be formed into a return loop. Although the real and the  last 1:48 version of the C&C were side of the road running, this version will wander on and off the highway to spice up the visuals a bit and create a greater sense of distance(remember that the line from North Corry to Columbus is on a shelf) The Brokenstraw Bridge was salvaged and is being improved with the sidewalks outside of the structure being added as well as improved box girder supports on the underside.....Biggest thing is that you will have to watch the block signals , particularly when the trackage into Corry is working and there are Cars operating in both directions, some to Columbus, some only as far as North Corry.......so to begin!!!

I would love to see a layout diagram, past or proposed, and pictures of some of the other elements of the layout.  I only really remember seeing photos of rolling stock builds.

I am intrigued by traction, although I'm not sure how I would integrate it into a layout.  I think I would have to employ an interchange where a traction component either exchanges cars for service to an urban industrial/warehouse district or modern industries a la the Iowa Traction Railway.

I guess I type too slow...wish granted before I could ask for it....

That is a good attitude to have when some home repair leads to a layout being torn down or at least heavy modification.  Are you gaining or losing any layout space in this project?  Do you have any photos of your recently dismantled layout?

No, I am afraid not, Mark, I am keeping the same amount of space

Better than losing space.
