Gary, CSX may have just posted photos of this locomotive on their Facebook page but the "news" is almost a year old. A quick google search produced images of this same locomotive just after the paint job was completed in March of last year. Now, having said all that thanks for the information as many might not have seen it until now. 

Yeah, this happened close to a year ago. I saw this unit in June at the museum it was donated to.

Some of my fellow members are hung up on dates.  I did a OGR search before I posted this thread. I was unable to find any records of this topic. Rebuilding this Chessie.

If I missed this, please provide the OGR Link. That covers,  Chessie System #8272 being restored.

From what I found, I was the first member to bring this topic to the OGR Forum.  It is not old news, I have always provided the dates and source. Like,  January 26, 2018 and June 15, 2017.

Chessie System painted B30-7 emerges from CSX shops in West Virginia

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A locomotive repainted into Chessie System colors has emerged from CSX Transportation’s Huntington locomotive shops. The B30-7, C&O No. 8272, formerly CSX No. 5554, was spotted outside of the facility’s main shop area on Saturday afternoon where it was coupled to CSX blue-and-gold locomotives.

Trains News Wire first reported about the locomotive on March 10 when photos appeared on a Facebook page dedicated to workers and former employees of the railroad’s Huntington shops. The original poster later removed the photos.

I have always liked the Chessie Colors, I wonder who will make the model of the Chessie System 8272. MTH or Lionel. I would like to see it as a RailKing.

The first home we purchase was in 1980, in Plymouth, Michigan. Several blocks from the Chessie System Yard and Roundhouse.  The roundhouse has been torn down and I started my train layout ing 1983.  One of our first locos was a Lionel Chessie System loco #8470.

Chessie System is my favorite road name and paint scheme. Old news or not this is great thread.
