The castle and towers are wood with a plaster? texturing for the doors, walls and roof tiles etc. The tunnel/mountain has a hardboard top of some sort covered in parer and paper mache down the sides. It's in need of reinforcing and repair but don't want to start until I have an idea what it is. I have a 259E in one of the openings to give a size perspective.

IT could be a home made job. The tunnel appears to be a Pola G scale one.

Looking at the pictures, I believe it may be a German Elastolin castle, maybe late 20s or 30s, but I am not an expert on the subject. The castle itself seems to be based on Schloss Lichtenstein in Germany which has been copied by quite a few German manufacturers over the years.

Mixed feelings on the age here. If it is 1950s Elastolin then the tunnels are usually more proportioned to HO. The patina and coloring makes me think more 1950s but the tunnel size makes me think somewhere between 1925 and 1935.
Whatever the age, you have a great piece.
