With the impending closing of MTH, Jim Sutter's Weaver thread, and the recent announcement that Hybrid Systems' Lionel (& other) catalog PDF's would be available on the LCCA members' web site, I started thinking about how nice it would be to have digital access to the catalogs from other manufacturers, like K-Line, Atlas, Weaver, etc.  And some questions come to mind.

The vast majority of MTH's catalogs are available on their web site, but for how long will the web site stay up?  I'm sure no one can definitively say, so I downloaded all the catalogs I could find.  The main catalogs apparently go back to the very beginning, but there are some missing catalogs in the pre-LCT Tinplate Traditions lines (I have some Tinplate Traditions catalog PDF's I downloaded years ago that are no longer available on the web site).

When Weaver announced that they were closing, I downloaded all of the PDF catalogs they had posted on their web site.  They had most, if not all, of their catalogs from 2004-2015 on their site.  Jim Sutter's Weaver thread had me looking at a lot of the old catalogs and finding things I may want to hunt down for my collection, and so I figure I might have to start looking for any older printed catalogs in order to learn about pre-2004 production.  When did Weaver start issuing catalogs?

When it comes to K-Line, I have a number of the printed catalogs from near the end (and all the KL-by-L catalogs), and I have the hardcover book they published covering their first X number of years, and I have used the K-Line Legacy web site for reference, which covers 1999-2005.  Like Weaver, the question I have is when did K-Line start putting out catalogs?

Same goes for Atlas -- when did they start putting out catalogs of or with their O gauge offerings?

That would be a great perk for TCA membership (hint hint)

I second the idea.  I wonder if the library at the museum has copies of catalogs from the various companies other than Lionel (I would hope so)?  And I wonder who they would have to go to to get permission to scan and publish the catalogs?  Or even better, I wonder if someone is in possession of the original catalog material / files that were supplied to the printers?
