Is this even possible?  I have a o72 oval and I want to be able to change the direction of my train.  can i do this and have one entry point?  I would need to be able to go clockwise and counter clockwise on the layout and use the one entry point to the "reversing" loop to do so.   I dont think its possible i was thinking of using a wye but i couldnt figure out the geometry.  I would be using fastrack

You will need an entry and exit point for each direction to avoid having to back a train.  Four switches are the minimum.

A single reverse loop has one entry point and requires two switches and a train going the wrong way around your O72 will have to back through the reversing loop.  The reverse loop will limit the length of the trains.

A wye will have two entry points (one for each direction and require three switches and all trains will be required to back out.  The length of the wye stem limits the length of the train.

I'll try to post some examples.

Is there away to do a change of direction with the length of the train not being a factor?
