How frequently to charge PS2 batteries? How to tell number of hours engine has been run?

If you run the trains, never. PS2 charges the batteries.
RJR: Thanks. I understand your answer but I’ve not been able to run them due to battles with health issues for the last year- prostate cancer treatment, pneumonia, cracked Ribs, massive migraine, kidney stones (three treatments). I feel like I need to re-educate myself on even basics. Thanks for your patience and very able help over the years.

Understand. Been there on the first problem. I don't run the trains much anymore, due to other commitments, but I solved the battery problem by making up supercapacitors for all of my PS2 locos. I would say that if you have an MTH charger, every 3 months should do.
