I am a bit confused. Why can a major retailer advertise in the S Gauge forum but as a member I need to sell any of my Flyer collection in the For Sale Forum.Seems a bit self serving.I realize they are a sponsor of the Forum but apparently that comes with a different set of rules......I only wish I command prices half as much as they advertise.....They need to attend a few train shows to find out where the real market value is at......

Russ D, apparently you did not see the Charles Ro booth at York.  It is very big and very costly.  I think York qualifies as a train show.  You might throw in the Big E in Springfield.  Charles Ro pays to be able to advertise where they do on the forum.  You can do that also if you want to step up.  Charlie knows the market as people are in the store every day buying his top shelf S gauge.  The train market is like the stock market, it goes up and down.  Everything Charlie sells is in top condition if advertised as so.  Charlie has a full time American Flyer expert named Michael on duty at all times to work on and make perfect every used Flyer item sold.   I witnessed the recent collection of Flyer being marketed and have never seen any old trains in the fantastic condition these trains are.

I am happy if a train (I am in O) looks good and runs perfectly.  Some people want the train to be perfect as well as the box and paperwork that came with the train in the 50's.    Not many trains exist that were made in the middle of the last century that fit in that window.   The real market value is what someone will pay for an item.  If you have a train that is far better than anything on the market and you do not get top buck, shame on you.

I do not know if you have ever been to the store, it is big.  I would not want to have to pay the light bill for a month.  One great thing about being an American is we have choices.  You can buy or not buy.  Guess what, people who want the best have been buying.
