Now that is just like one of those promotional photos they used to run back in the day(pick a year from before 1975 or so). It really showcases it all in one mind burning image. Whether its the train, buildings, or an advertisement for just about anything(I know it isn't, but imagine if it was), you'd remember it.
"How fast are these running shoes? So fast that you'd think you were a steam locomotive breaking time against the morning sun coming up. Mohawk shoes, fastest running shoe east of Chicago.", announcer says.
Something like that. lol

Great photo with fantastic icons highlighted. A bit tough for a Philly guy to admit how very important NYC is to all of us, and how very significant in our cultural heritage.

I always like the Chrysler Building a little better than the Empire State Building. I like to graceful curves at the top. It makes it look more Art Deco to me at least.
Now, just just imagine what can be conjured up once some kind of Start Trek-type holodeck technology becomes affordable for the hobbyist...Eric Siegel will be doing a review on a projector module he installed on top of a water tower or outdoor privy.
