I look forward to seeing those completed. Here's a link to the product gallery page on NASG for the Quality Craft Models caboose kit.

Quality Craft Models Caboose - NASG

Super Scale goes back to the 50's.  The NASG product gallery does not show that kit.  If you build it, it would be great for you to get a picture to the NASG webmaster, Peter Van Vliet.

Me too; hope I'm up to the task.

Just had a chance to (kinda) look over the Super Scale kit; the roof and sides are simple sheet metal with no rivet detail. LOTS of little parts, with no floor piece, as far as I can tell. I suspect I'll end up using a piece of basswood for the actual floor. Given the shear number of parts, I wonder if the frame is to be built up, as opposed to a single piece.  Some nice die cast parts, but with no instruction sheet(s), I'm not quite sure how this is all supposed to come together...

As usual, will keep you all in the loop...

"Quality Craft".

Very fond memories of Quality Craft kits. My first efforts back in the mid-later 60s at "craftsman" type kits was via Quality Craft HO kits.

I think my first was a PRR boxcar similar to what I was beginning to see around KCMO. (Longish boxcars with the trucks set further inward.) From there I tackled two or three Quality Craft tri-level auto racks. Tough kit for a mid-teen!

I still recall the aroma of hand brushing the wood with Floquil straight out of the bottle... the smell of Solvaset... ah... such warm memories! My mind drifts back to those years everytime I sniff an opened bottle of Solvaset or open a bottle of original Floquil.
