That catalog is impressive all the way around! The Polar Express fright set is pretty cool.  I like the Peanuts cars too...to bad its all O Gauge.  I don't get into the Christmas themed trains (in S or O), but I would think that the people that do are quite pleased with this catalog.  I wonder if Lionel will end up making a set of Alco PAs to go with the S gauge stream line passenger cars.

I have to say that there isn't anything here that I would buy?

 

I just see it as novelty stuff which gets little use. I guess it is OK if you have young children but I have passed that stage of life now.

Novelty stuff isn't my bag either, but I do take the view that it exposes S to a broader market, which MAY help entice some folks into S.

 

S is, after all, the perfect size.
