I'm wishing that Jim Waterman will finally have the time to print up and assemble a Milwaukee Road Standard Gauge Erie-bilt diesel set,

Milwaukee Road Erie Built

to go with 10-car set of Olympian Hiawatha passenger cars he previously made for me including the spectacular skytop lounge car below.

Good evening,

by chance, do you still have the standard gauge custom made turntable and if you do, can you provide more information on the piece as well as cost?

thank you,

michael

Michael,

If you are referring to the Smith Metal Works Standard Gauge turntable, "yes" I still own it.  As you can see below, it is large enough to handle a 400E locomotive and tender.  It's a simple design, consisting of two round steel plates separated by a thin pressed wood disc containing ball bearings.  Everything is bolted together in the center using a small nylon disc, which maintains electrical separation between the two steel plates.  It is manually operated using two brass knobs.

Hope this is what you wanted to know.  Unfortunately, Smith Metal Works no longer makes this turntable nor the roundhouse that was designed to be used with it, nor the rectangular engine house.
