Hello All,

I just won a CMC #89 Strasburg locomotive. One of Arno's pieces that doesn't have the original cars. I did some research and found a set of yellow cars wit red roofs in what was listed a complete set. Does anyone know if this is the correct color car to go with the Strasburg loco? I would assume the cars would be Tuscan red and not yellow. Anyone have a picture of an original set? Below is the picture I found online.

Thank you,

Sam

As far as I know, green was the normal roof color. The new CMT has Strasberg cars but they are a maroon color I believe to look more like real Strasberg cars. The red looks pretty good though.

Thanks Steve! I might just pick up a set of the new cars once I get the engine running smoothly

I just posted a 1976 CMC catalog that says the cars are yellow and green. Doesn't mean they did not do yellow and red also. The red roofs in the picture you showed look like the correct red CMC used.

Thanks Steve, I know the new CMT isn't making this color combo right now but they do make something a little similar, the Union Pacific, the roof looks orange which is different but the body color looks close.  I'm still leaning towards there new Stasburg however, I think that would look nice.

Sam,

If you're headed to York later in the week, come take a look at the CMT Strasburg Cars in person.  I'm not sure of my table numbers yet (they've been mailed out very late... so I'm told), but I should be somewhere in Red. CMT LLC will be bringing one or two sets of each passenger car paint scheme as well as some freight cars.

Hope to see you there!

Thanks Rob,

I was planning on going but work is a little hectic right now and I most likely I won't be able to go to York.
