A friend has 2 Inter Mountain 2 rail Lehigh Valley 2 bay rib side hoppers, and asked if I would make him some ash loads. He wanted one with 2 humps just rising slightly above the sides. He showed me a prototype photo of what he wanted. The second load sits low in the car to represent the car being filled or emptied. He is going to weather the cars and put them on a shelf, and most likely won't use them on his 3 rail layout, other then for photos.

These are some highly detailed and fragile cars. I thought Atlas had some fragile cars, but these have em beat! I have to glue a few parts back in place before returning the car.

I got some ashes from my son's stoker, and from a long ago extinguished mine fire from nearby, and ground them up to an appropriate size, and blended them together.
