Honestly, though I hear your pain. It would be nice to turn off Rudolph's nose.

Quick fix is to splice it into the cab light.

Long term fix is to wait for the updated Legacy module chip due to be released?

I too am still waiting for the long term fix.

Once again it will be a utility to edit the base.  It will allow you add a icon to turn off the light by a button.

If Lionel is waiting to take poll on the "fix" for the incorrectly programed Mars light, I'd like to add my name to that of those that are waiting.  I would also like to see the marker lights toned down a bit.  They're really about as bright as the headlight itself.  Does anyone know if they could be connected in series and that might cut down on their brightness?  I just don't know if LED's can be dimmed by cutting the voltage in 1/2.

I hate to go in and start "tinkering" with a brand new engine, but I really would like it to be right.  As to the idea of connecting the Mars light to the cab light circuit; that would correct part of the problem, but the light would only go on when the engine is stopped, not in reverse as it was designed to be.

Thanx, Hot;  I think that I once read that.  But, to me, the best way would have been to arrange for the Mars light function to be controlled by some button on the hand held.  That would be the closest thing to prototype, but if that can't be arranged, my thought would be for the light to go on automatically, at the times that it would be likely the engineer would have turned it on.  And I don't think that I ever saw the engine run forward with the Mars light on, either when I've seen it in person or on numerous videos of the engine.

Someone suggested that Jon was planning on arranging some control function on the Legacy system that would control that light.
