that view looks SSE. the H*ll Gate Bridge is just north of the confluence of the East and Harlem Rivers. Over the right shoulder view the Harlem River runs NW to Spyten Duyvil and out to the North (Husdon) River.

the Harlem is a great river ride, with lots of low bridges. there are some nice sections of 'old New York' along its banks.
circling back to the topic:

at our club, when we host an open house the trains are running continuously, which iswhat most people like to see. even with 400' of double mainline and 6 consists running at once, it does get a bit monotonous, albeit exciting if we're not paying attention or the crowd prevents you from seeing your train.

that being said, we have been embarking on systematic additions to the track plan, incorporating industries, sidings and areas where operating interest can occur, keeping us engaged in operations.
