Conventional control of a TMCC/Legacy in a MTH/LEGACY WIFI environment

The subject of conventional control of a TMCC/Legacy engine on a club layout configured with DCS TIU/WIFI and Legacy through a SER2 connection came up tonight and I was fairly sure of the answer, but would like to hear what those running the system have to say.

I have put my TMCC in program on my home layout and they run fine conventionally even with the TMCC/Legacy base fired up. Is this correct for running them conventionally and not having to shut down the Legacy base?
