Hello everyone, I'm looking to add Legacy to a brass M1A I have coming in. I have an ERR kit, however, I would really like to incorporate the whistle steam effect and the only choice I know of is to fit a legacy "donor" 691RCMC and the associated parts. My current build list is about $500 from Lionel (boards, smoke units, motor/motor ring, IR loco/tender, etc). My question is regarding the sound. I'm using the Legacy 4-6-2 (6-11338) as the base model for the electronics but want to use the M1A sound board. Does anyone know if you can use a different model legacy sound board with the RCMC? I'm assuming the boards are the same with only the sound files being different (at least hoping!)
