Converting a DZ-1000 with Ross switch to remote operation- Is there a work around for this issue?

You really need a remote control that has two channels and momentary contact relays.  Looking at your documentation, you could use two of the channels to control one switch and program it in the momentary mode, that would solve the problem.

Thanks GRJ, I was afraid that might be the prime option.  Had to do something like  that when I had to replace the controls on the Lionel backshop doors to get them to move up and down. Inside the DZ-1000 must be a few diodes and cam operated limit switches for starting and stopping the DC motor (cold not find a diagram on line or on the forum).

I found this circuit mentioned in a previous thread and it uses a momentary SPDT switch but no hint of non derailing. Two switches like this based on the  two channel approach I guess is what you mean.

Thanks, this is very helpful.  If anyone had one of these, I should have figured it was you.  I obviously over estimated the switch configuration.  Must be an interesting cam in there.  I have a dead one I need to open up and take a look
