Yesterday I had a few minutes to visit the Cookeville, TN Railroad Depot Museum. Unfortunately, the museum itself is closed on Mondays, but I was able to take a few pix of the equipment outside the museum.

There is more information on the museum here: https://www.cookevilledepot.com. Hope you enjoy.

Across the street from the station is "Cream City" Ice Cream. I hope to visit there sometime in the future to let you know what it is all about.

Original Post

I went to Tennessee Tech, located in Cookeville starting in 1977 and graduating in 1982. In those days, that railroad was run by the L&N. The track ran all the way to Harriman where L&N interchanged with Southern Railway. The L&N had one local train a day that went east three days a week and west the other three days a week, with no train at all on Sundays. I was able to talk to the crew while they switched some business tracks in Cookeville. Those were good days.
