I’m just getting into them. A lot to learn. I’d love to get some copies of their catalogs.

As some may know, the Cox HO items were made by Athearn but were offered fully assembled and in attractive packaging. I'm forgetting what other items they offered, but they were good sellers back in my retail days.

Yeah, ….dad sold Cox in his stores, ….very good sellers,….nothing like Atherns that don’t have to be built …..😉

Pat - our store used to take Athearn items, combine them with a loop of Atlas nickel plate Snap-Track, add an MRC transformer and sell the as sets. They were light years better than the low-priced sets that came in from Asia back in the day.

Don, …dad did pretty much the same thing with Mantua die cast,….they sold well as made up sets because some folks liked the “ heavy metal feel” but wanted something smaller,…..never mind the fact O27 ran in a smaller space, but never the less, they sold pretty well,…….we sold the cheap overseas sets too, but we always had to keep a case of each set  in reserve for those that wanted an exchange ……not that Tyco, Bachmann, & Life-Like didn’t make good, …..they always reimbursed us…..I’d say out of all of them, Bachmann back in the day took real good care of us small potatoes……

Dad had 3 stores …one in south Jersey, one in MD. and one on the outer banks of NC ……..that was many moons ago now,…..he retired the last store in the early 2000’s ….I worked every weekend and every day off from my day job running his service departments,……
