Currently CSX.  CSX seems to have been investing in their infrastructure and honoring its history with the B&O OCS.

I had mainly been an NS fan due to their great ancestry and how they honored them with the heritage units.   The Bob Claytor era NS and pre Conrail split were my favorite NS years.  Second to none in the east in safety and track quality.  Now, not so much.

My answer to that varies depending on when.  But right now, its CSX.

for me it Norfolk Southern but the old original Norfolk Southern that ran from norfolk to charlotte

i live about a mile from the main line here in Greenville NC  used now by carolina coastal and sometimes csx

The original NS even had an electric district for a a short while and also a train called the midnight express

and the original NS even had berkshires.

There are more CSX Berks that have survived than just about any other steamers for a Class 1 system. This says something.

What is a "CSX Berk"?  There wasn't even a "CSX" back in the steam days, thus CSX could not have had ANY "Berks", and thus did not save any. The NKP and C&O saved and donated, a number of 2-8-4 steam locomotives, way back in the 1950s.
