Custom decals for mth subway

This too is something I’d be interested in. I’ve seen some guys swap there roll signs one guy named Zach summer has done this. Check out his Youtube. Don’t know of a vendor. Would be Nice to buy this pre made. Know island model works has MTA & NYC Subway decals. Maybe there is someone who can give some advice on how to beat approach doing these. I’d think something printed on a cling type of vinyl would work. Think paper color printed would not look as clean in terms of application. Would want to avoid taking off the plastic toll sign only cause it’s so tight reinstall. Not so for destination. Plus certain glues leave a foggy window residue.

If you have the artwork, there is a product called "tansfer medium" that brushes on printed artwork and once set, the paper can be wetted and rubbed off the back, leaving the ink behind.  I used an old 70s Mod Podge version called Decal-it, I don't know that's the best (or the name) anymore. I used too many coats in anticipation of it being too weak for the paper removal, but it is actually quite strong; rubbery. A smoother surface might be had by spraying it (?). I can see my brush strokes, but only if I look close. I used the medium as the glue too.

  I'll post a picture in a bit. (it's just a small PRR keystone taken from a magazine or catalog.)

This is only about 1/4". Trimmed poorly with curved toenail scissors, and "grimed" with cheapo black acrylic.  It was an experiment  that turned out better than expected so I used it (GG-1, the two  shapes seen at the edges of the photo are the ?????(what are those anyhow ) "recesses with the T shape" just below the gutter line.

Everything needed can be printed out using M.S. word & Excel on a PC. No need for decals. Manually type in a #6 or 7 font. Use 3M spray glue to apply.

All my signage, ads, billboards, brick building fronts, graffiti or what ever is made this way.

E - Insert circle from SHAPES. Drag to size, then DRAG into black box. Choose blue to fill circle. Select text box and Arial , bold font. Type an E. Font will be black. Select white for E and drag it over the blue circle. Cut black area of rectangle with scissors to fit subway window. I could make an exact window but don't have time. Font numbers only automatically go down to 8, so to get smaller, type in a 6 enter fooling the program.

  Clear decals have an advantage of the paint being the background color thru the tanslucent film  Mine doesn't illustrate that, but in some places there is just no good substitute for a translucent reviel of the paint as background. 

  Printing ink also has a MUCH higher pigment count than liquids in jet printer or toners, etc..

  The home printer will do for most things, but there is no substitute for "real" printing if you need the best in ink quality.

The decal I made looks better than the Lionel stickers on my RI&P General. in person it looks far closer to being painted on than stuck on.
