I'm trying to set up a dealer-esque type of mobile layout. I'm trying to set up an automated milk car with an operating track section. Every time I press the unload button it shorts out the transformer. I tried wiring the operating track to the accessory port of the CW-80. Still shorts out.20210921_212051

The CW80 is perfectly capable of powering the milk car and more at the same time. If the CW80 and operating track and log car all work just fine, and then you change one thing (log car to milk car) and things stop working, I would look at what changed (milk car) before blaming what hasn't changed (transformer & operating track).

As such, it look like your milk car needs to be investigated. Does it work on another layout/setup? Does another milk car work on your setup? Does an inspection of the milk car wiring show any concerns and is it correct?

The CW80 may not be capable of powering the milk car.  The milk car(and other accessory) solenoid inrush current can easily cause the CW to go into "foldback" mode, flashing the green pilot light.  If you use the "uncouple" button to activate the milk car, then you have the track magnet added in to the current draw.

To test this, push the unload button while bringing up the throttle. The car should work, but obviously not as "snappy".

@ADCX Rob, I have never seen or experienced any solenoid based accessory, car, e-unit etc. cause a CW80 foldback unless there were other contributing factors. For curiosity's sake, I did just take three various milk cars and two CW80s I had readily on hand and was unable to cause a foldback condition - it all worked as expected. (However, I can't say I've exhaustively tested every variation of milk car and CW80 that ever existed). Even if the CW80 and its foldback did turn out to be the culprit, that would become a potential suspect following the the troubleshooting questions I offered up earlier:

I guess what I am really saying first, is there is not enough information to begin to float a sound theory stating where or what the problem is and that following basic troubleshooting logic will gain meaningful information which can guide a resolution.

Lastly, I'm not saying foldback can't ultimately be the root of the issue, just that I have not seen it to be as prevalent as your posting history indicates it may be.
