Looks like it turned out great, Nice work! That's really a steep and sharp curve below.
919 grass on wet paint?
Getting ready to do that soon on my D-105.
Something about the original grass that new stuff can't duplicate
Jagrick, where did you source your felt for the mountain? I've bought a few 920 sets to get the proper thickness felt, can't find much readily available that's thin enough.
I wonder if this layout was built with larger curves, would you get the same effect?
Probably could but the size would be enormous. Even at this it is 8'4" long and 4' wide and 6" tall and is a little awkward to move. As a built in you could do a lot of things-hidden siding with a different train coming out then what went in.
Finally got the D-27 layout "tuned in" but had to change the exit by lowering the track down by 1/2 " to lessen the grade. I am convinced that the Magne traction feature weakens over the years and is to the point (in three of the 2035's I tried) could not make the pull with more than 3-4 gondolas. By lowering the grade slightly, it can pull 10-12 of the 1002 gondolas.
I will get a picture for you and details
You do net to cut one of the o72 curves to fit as well as some top cuts to allow it to bend down smoothly
Will get picture tonight
@Mike Espy posted:Jagrick, Can you please post a photo of this section of track that has been cut to get an idea of what it needs to look like.
Great little layout!
It would be nice to see the entire finished trackage underneath. I suspect the mountain is removable to allow for lifting up the panel hiding the track.
Probably one of Lionel's coolest dealer displays. Never gets old.
