DCS National WiFi day...who's going?

I'll be demonstrating the WIU at the Train Loft in Winston-Salem NC. 336-760-9817.........Roger

I will be deomostrating the MTH WiFi system at Hub Hobby Center in Richfield MN. I will also be upgrading the software on the DCS system

This is pretty cool.  While I primarily demo Legacy, I have and run DCS and try to keep up with all new tech regardless who's it is, the LHS asked me to help.  It's great to see the members on this forum step up to help out the shops.  I know that it's probably difficult for an owner to run a store and do special events like this. 

Maybe I should of titled this "Who else is helping their LHS with WiFi day?"  LOL!

My LHS asked me to operate/demonstrate the WIU before it was announced publicly by MTH........Roger

I plan to go and assist my LHS.  Of course the first real snow storm of the season is being predicted for my area Friday night into Saturday (I'm in NJ).  So who knows...

Tomorrow is the day.  The weather looks like it will cooperate here in the Pittsburgh area.

Since I have to make a trip to see my aunt in an assisted living facility in Zelienople, I plan on making my regular stop at C.T. McCormick's Hardware in Zelie.  I bought a WIU from Jeff a couple weeks ago, upgraded to Revision 5, and got my first engine in the WIU without any problem.  I'll see what Jeff has going on.

Whether in Jersey isn't going to cooperate.  My LHS and I are right on the boarder of the blizzard warning for the area with snow expected between 10" and 18" with the heaviest snow falling during mid day.  :-(

You guys get buttloads of snow every year, why does a 12 to 18 inch snowfall shut you down. I'd love to get snow like that here in mn but it's been rare these days

My local hobby shop doesn't have a operating layout to demo anything.

We don't typically get that much snow in a single storm.  We are expecting blizzard conditions too which is more rare for us.  And in this case, it will be happening when my LHS should be open.  

No shops I know of doing  any demo and even if they were the snow would put a stop to it. 

Any shops in the philly area doing it?

Probably zero in this area.  Close to 3 feet are forecast.

This is the one time during the year we up north get less snow than the Pittsburgh area.  Here in Butler we only have 1 inch.  It had stopped when I let the dog out before going to bed.  My wife's friend in Mars, my home area, said they have 2 inches, so it is probably similar in Zelienople.  I'll be trekking down there later today to see my aunt, and I will stop by McCormick's even though I already have mine working. 

We got about 4-5. 

I was going to go but 1 foot of snow is stopping me and don't think my shop will be open.

 I live in the snow belt if its not a foot its a dusting ...

Blizzard conditions here in NJ.  Right now I have about a 3' snow drift in my driveway.  I can't really tell because of the drifting but it appears we have about 12" of snow so far with up to another 18" forecast.  

No DCS Wifi day around here...

I should be able to get. Going in an hour or so. I'll have to check with the shop to see if they'll postpone it. 

The Train Loft in Winston-Salem NC was close today because of the storm. Hopefully we can reschedule and have the DCS Wifi demonstration another day..............Roger

Was going to run down to Just Trains in Delaware but the Blizzard had other plans.  Just Trains has rescheduled to Sat Feb 6th.  I'll go and pick up my new Wifi unit, plus get my TIU & handheld upgrade.  Can't wait.

I was planning on going to pat's in wheeling,,,,then on wed got the shingles,,,and not the kind for the house,,,,,,had the shot several years ago ,so its a milder case,,,,what the heck,,,,,i can go anytime,,,,,here in the city of Pittsburgh I had bout 7 inches of snow ...fun,fun,,,,,,,

Mackinac Bridge closed today, Sat, Jan. 23, 2016 - This will be hard for the “Yoopers” coming down state for WiFi Day.

This turned out to be the one snowfall per year that you folks in Pittsburgh get more snow than we get in Butler.  We only had about an inch.  I planned to stop in at C T McCormick's in Zelienople on my way to see my aunt in the assisted living facility there.  I got there near closing because I had to run an errand for my mother-in-law.  I already have a WIU working, so I just was interested in what is going on, and as has been said, any day can be WIU day.  Jeff did have a sale today only on previous cataloged and uncataloged stock.  I picked up a nice MTH Premier B&LE 2-bay hopper and a Marsh-Wheeling billboard car.

At The Imperial Train Company we had about 4 TIU updates. I did 5 demos. Regis the owner is planning on doing a do-over in about 3 or 4 weeks. With the weather the way it was he wants to give folks a chance who couldn't make it to see what it's all about.
