I'm using a Spypoint Geopad which is an android base system , Trying to connect with the WIFI but says TIU not found.  Also was going to try connecting with my wifes Iphone 4S but when trying to upload the free MTH app, message says she has to install IOS 8.4 but another source says the Iphone 4S is too old.

guess I'm behind the times when it comes to all this hi-tech stuff

Will the DCS wifi work with my Geopad tablet ??

First, do you have a WIU connected to your TIU? I ask because, unless you have a store sample or were in the app beta test, you can't yet purchase one. You can't use the DCS App without a WIU and without also updating your TIU (at least) to DCS 5.0.

If you do have a WIU and have updated to DCS 5.0, have you followed instructions to connect it to the TIU?You need to go into the WiFi settings, locate the WiFi module and select it as your network.

Everything that you need to know about the DCS App and the WIU, and a whole lot more is all in MTH’s “The DCS Companion 3rd Edition", available for purchase from many fine OGR advertisers and forum sponsors, or as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store!

Hi Barry:

I do have the Wifi unit, its our store unit which we just recently received.  I am using a new Rev. L TIU, which I upgraded to 5.0

I myself did not load the free app, my daughter did and I dont know how she did it.  She never asked me for a password as I did not have the Wifi unit when she loaded the app.

The obvious step I seem to be missing is from the Wifi literature is section 7 " go to settings/wi-fi and connect smart device to the DCS network.  NETWORK KEY mthdcswifi

where do I find that ???

when I turn on the app it goes to the Run My Trains page

Model a Guy, I also have the DCS WiFi module and it does work as advertised. Go to system settings in your Android phone, go to Wi-Fi, there should be a switch that you can touch to turn your Wi-Fi on. Hold your finger on the screen where the word Wi-Fi is located, another screen should open. find your router on that screen. Hold your finger on the screen that shows your router. You should be able to see the word" connect". It should show a screen that will let you enter the MTH DCS Wifi password. Click save. Your phone should connect with your router....................rogerw.

Sorry MTH setting.

Took another look at it today in the tablet (new to this) when I try to sign into the DCS Wifi it would say connecting then disconnecting. I found that I had to first on the tablet check out of the home wi fi network then resign in to the MTH network. Now it allows me to toggle back and forth easily between networks.

Looking forward to the full versions of the Wi Fi DCS app.

This is a great way to run trains. Makes it easier to see the list of engines then on the DCS remotes.
