I have a dead 022 switch. Does not light when power is applied, and does not throw. I took it apart and all the contacts are ok and clean. This is the first one that I have not been able to fix. Is there a way to check if the solenoid is burned out?

Check the contacts on the side where you plug in the aux. power plug. If you are using track power and the contacts (booster pin) are not closed with the plug out, the switch will be dead. A bad coil is unlikely, and would not cause the bulb to not light.

The mating between the switch motor and track base is also a problem spot. If you rotate the switch lantern and never get any response from the switch controller, that's another place I'd look.
The contacts are closed with the plug out. I also cleaned them. Still, no light.
I have two motors for sale if you want them one missing the top shell and missing the middle stud ( broke off) the other appears complete but I believe needs cleaning as it worked some times and some times not contact me if you want them for parts

Normally, those mating contacts just need a bit more solder on the switch motor or occasionally they have poor contact in the switch track itself. You have to look to see what the issue is.
If that connection doesn't complete, the switch will indeed appear totally dead.
One other place to look, the ground is through the raised edge of the switch machine and the copper strip that mates with it. That's another source of issues. I solder that copper strip to the track crimp to improve that connection, and also make sure the arch in the copper strip presses against the switch machine when they're mated.
I washed down all of the contacts with Radio Shack tuner cleaner, and, voila, the switches work perfectly!!!! Thanks for your l help.
