Ditto on the thanks, Charlie, Vic, and Toni, a great time, great food and fun trains!

Yep, it was one of the best meets ever we had in June, not to hot, just right.  Thanks to  Victor, Charlie and wife, Toni and I'm also gonna add Mark to this "Thank You" for his help with the running of the layout. Thanks ya 'll.

WOW!!!! that layout is sure LONG!!!  What are the dimensions??  You guys and gals are a great bunch and I always look forward to your updates.  Can't wait for the video of this event....

We have the new trailer but it's not ready yet. Mark will be working on it, should be ready for the fall show season.

Thanks Charlie, Victor, and Toni!!  The evening went by very quickly.  If you are not a member of a group like this START ONE!!  Few rules, no property, no money, only each other and trains.  A very enjoyable evening whether visiting someones layout or running a modular outside.

That 102 car train looked awesome!  I especially liked the clip with the late afternoon sun lighting the Yellowstones.  The smoke plumes being blown by the breeze gave it a prototypical look.  Any coupler failures? 

 

Charlie, I see you have a complete LS&I ore train - probably the only 3 rail one in existence (for now!).  It looks like you guys own a large percentage of RMT's production.

That sure looks like a lot of fun! I like the idea of setting up an outdoor layout for such an event, where members can bring and run their trains. (Of course, the weather has to cooperate.)

 

The video is great! And yes,  by the way, just how long is the layout?

The layout was 56 feet long.

Could someone address the pitch or not of the driveway and the level or not of the module assembly? tt

My driveway is not perfectly level.  In the 56' run there is a difference of 18" in grade.  Not at all an issue.

 

Subtle differences in the driveway are accommodated by leveling feet on the modules.

However,you guys are pulling heavier trains than we did, but on a

level surface with no serpentine curves and using 2 loco consist. We used lighter cars, traversed up and down hills, had lots of curves and used 1 loco.

Clearly, we must now gear up to run 110 cars. And I respectfully suggest that the Forum

create a committee to define and adjudicate "long train standards".
