In order to avoid having orders exceed the capacity to manufacture/ship, BlueRail and Tam Valley have not made their boards publicly available (or advertised) and have only been selling boards directly to people on their email list (they have a large following). I understand that manufacturing capacity, stock, and retailers are now reaching a volume where they are ready to release to the public at large (or sometime soon). Until then, the only way to get a board is to join their mailing list ("contact" on the BlueRail website). The new BlueRailDCC by Tam Valley boards will let you control any DCC decoder using the BlueRail app. DeadRail Installs is handling sales.

Please forgive me as I'm just getting back into hobby after a long hiatus. In reading through the forums I see I missed much. The whole MTH thing, the appearance of Lion Chief (which caused me to buy a LC+ 2.0 loco as my first new loco) and other things. I also came across this Bluerail thing, which caught my interest as I still cannot afford DCS or Legacy. I've read as much as I could find on Bluerail. I've been to the Bluerail trains, Tam Valley and Deadrail web sites.  All leaving me with more questions than answers. The lasts posts in OGR ended in 2021. It seems to have fallen into off the radar for O scale unless you have a loco that can be driven with the Blunami 2200 (limiting). Does anybody have any insight on what happened with regards to O gauge?

Thanks!

Bobby

Bobby,

Search BlueRail or Blunami.  There are dozens of threads in 2022 and 2023.

You can also look in the Lionel  LionChief and other R/C forum.  We don't have our own Deadrail forum yet.

Blunami for O is coming in 2023.  I did put the 2200 in a 44 tonner and it runs great.

I think the Blunami 4408 might be out by end of January.

Also, just for clarity... BlueRail doesn't make any product that is sold directly to consumers. BlueRail makes firmware for bluetooth modules, and they license that firmware to board manufacturers (presently SoundTraxx, Tam Valley and Bachmann).  BlueRail also makes free apps that can control the trains.

The product that is in short supply recently is BlueRailDCC by Tam Valley (which is a Tam Valley product). Tam Valley is waiting for some components to come in so they can make more boards.

There is also the company DeadRail Installs (Pete Steinmetz) which is the company that sells Tam Valley boards (and battery supplies).

There has been a big demand for SoundTraxx Blunamis, and no shortages there.

I currently have Blunami 2200's in my O gauge locos. Looking forward to the Blunami 4408's for my Large Scale trains.
