Just bought a NYC GP9 6-8477.  Haven't used the sound board versus the old school tender whistle.  Ran it on my test bench with a 1033 transformer (which I ran successful tests with whistle tenders)... no sound.  Had another one I could compare it to... no sound.  I guess I'm missing something.  Any tips - can't believe two are bad... must be my setup.

Brings up another topic - using the transformer vs a 5904 or 5906 sound button.  I've never used these before.  Do they offer an advantage or disadvantage over using the transformer handle?

Thanks!

John

No doubt... problem solved and thanks again for the help.

Doing some reading - looks like all the 5904 does is controls the polarity of the transformer controls - ie: one setting for horn, the other setting for bell.  Switch the leads and it does the opposite.  You still need the transformer to turn on the horn.  The 5906 can accomplish the same thing with two but actually has a button to activate.  Am I reading this right?

Thanks again!
