I custom painted this FA-2 FB-2 set. When B&O started to simplify their paint scheme they originally painted all the striping. Later they simplified it even further. I painted one of the FA-2 Bs the original scheme for contrast.

I don't model The B&O but it has a strong influence.

An interesting shot of EMC's (before it was EMD) "AA" unit, boxcab passenger unit built August 1935.  This shot shows it as modified by the B&O with the slant nose shroud.

A face only a mother can love...Anyone remember that thread? That slant nose sure qualifies as such. I think I'll stick to the first photo for the project.

I am looking to buy a B&O circular harold logo plate found on the nose of steamers and diesel. Anyone know where I can find one. I have a SP one I can trade also.

There was a company called CandO plates that sold exactly what your looking for. Unfortunately an internet search shows the company was sold to Wiseman model services. You might want to check with them to see if they are available.

Neat!  The GP9 I am working on to convert to PS2 is numbered 6602.  Been trying to decide long or short hood forward.  Think this photo pushes me to short hood.

You do know these locomotives go in either direction, so you wouldn't be wrong in any case.

Oh yes!  Especially if the cabs were set up for dual control stations.  But also some roads "ordained" preferences.

And generally like long hood forward. But sometime the short forward looks good.  This is the first photo I have seen with the blue/gray scheme short hood forward.  It looks a bit alright.

This week was preparing these Doodlebugs to sell by installing new MTH batteries and testing them on the dynamic test stand.

But came to conclusion they are too nice only to get a few dollars, so will keep.  Must add crew member(s and eventually some passengers.  But on the front units the passengers will have to be cut in half length wise to fit.

Again my B&O units are hanging out with friends from the Pennsy.

Well I found my B&O smooth-sided streamline passenger set 20-6565.  And as I expected it is based on "The Columbian."  The dome is named "High Dome"  and the observation car is named "Washington."  This is prototypically correct The other two (dome&observation) were the "Sky Dome" and "Chicago" respectively.

Pardon picture clarity but didn't pull them from box yet.

NOW!!!  If I can only find in good condition the two car add-on set 20-6665.  I have a "Want to Buy" posted.

Also according to info I have the B&O would run a heavyweight RPO with this consist.
