Ameri-Towne Palace Theater

If you have this building either with or without the lighted marquee, please post photos showing the colors you painted it and whether you weathered it.

I'm about to build mine and am curious what paint schemes other folks have painted it.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing lots of great Palace Movie Theater photos.

Here's 2 photos of mine. It is very close to the one in my home town, very close. The only thing was that the owner flew an American flag from the marque. The blue color came in 1955 it was originally white glossy. But painted a light sky blue. Next to theatre was a small park with a Lincoln statue which I recreated. It was the first building one saw when coming into town. Later the park was moved and a Texaco gas station was built were the park was.

So, have any more of you built this theater? If you have, please post photo(s) showing how you painted and/or customized it.

Btw,I  haven't a clue as to why, and strange as it seems but the manufacturer of this theater, unlike for all other Ameri-Towne buildings they make, has chosen not to include an interior graphics background and window treatments in this building's kit.

Good stuff all around!  Here's my version, the interior and movie posters are all googled images, shrunk down to fit. Spray painted the building rather than brush, taped off individual elements to get a clean look. I added a different top piece to the front fascade as originally I purchased the building front to use as a flat. I need to weather the paint a bit as it did come out too shiny.20171019_14160320171030_182106

Steve, I've sent you an email.

You did a really nice job lighting the theater, Nelsonw. How did you do the lighting on the building behind the theater marquee? What did you use? Also, while your link showed a long shot of the theater unlit during daytime, it would be appreciated if you would post a closeup of the theater unlit in daylight so we could see what colors you painted it. Thanks.

Okay, folks, keep posting photos showing how you've painted or otherwise customized this great theater.

Also if you've added an interior, pleaaseshow what you used for that too.

Btw, has anyone modded this building by adding, similar to the Atlas Elektra Theater, an extra level at the rear simulating a flywing for scenery as if your theater had been used during an earlier time for live performances?

The lights behind the marquee are 5mm white LED’s. Ruby Tuesday’s has drinking straws that are black and fit over a 5mm LED. That was used to cover the LED making it a floodlight fixture. Cutting the straw on a angle at the base to fit the building overhang.

As this layout is only setup at Christmas time I cannot post daylight shots. Sorry
