I am curious whether anyone has the specs for these brushes. I am looking to see whether something like a shorter verions of Lionel's 622-121 would be appropriate for a Marx motor.

Can be found in da-bay , without springs 8 / 10.60, with springs 4 / 10.60 Easy peasy...
In a pinch, worn Lionel brushes will do just fine. I keep some around for just that purpose.

GregR here is an original Marx brush out of 666 barely run engine and a repro 622-121 brush.
Marx brush 1/4 inch and 622-121 brush a hair sort of 3/8 of inch.
Note - for some reason the marx brush looks like its copper colored but is actually darker colored as the old camera flash somehow did that .
The diameter seems to be the same when putting both brushes end to end.
