MTH VTR 20-93646 just arrived from T&K hobby.

Out of box Quality issue found as follows:

Looks like the bottom door guides are too long on both sides and are not fitting flush properly. I removed and sanded them in order to correct the issue.

On an additional note, as with all door guides of this design, it is easier for me to sand the paint off the tabs. The original design of the tab was probably never (fit checked) with finished paint applied. As I have dissembled hundreds of these, it is difficult to remove and re-install when weathering the product. Sanding the paint makes the tabs easier to slide back in place. A cell phone plastic tool works well in preserving the shell. Please issue a Quality alert to the line about the door guide fit. Attached are some before and after photos.

Hello Steve,

Thank you very much for alerting us to this problem.  This is a great use of this forum.  I have sent your very detailed and time consuming post to both the responsible product manager at MTH and directly to the vendor in China who makes these cars to make sure this problem gets corrected.

Thank you again for your effort!!
