Drag Racing Coming to the TTOS-SP Holiday Open House, Sunday December 16

I'm interested in possibly having something similar at our upcoming show.   What sort of setup do you use for this?

Does anyone have any videos of a real model train drag race?

I seen it at Cal Stewart but didn't pay much attention and it was a long time ago. Two parallel tracks 30 ft. or more long on planks I guess. I think Marx engines did well.

You don't run your like new best engines here.

Looks like fun.

With today's traction tire engines, will there be spectacular burn-outs? How about O-Scale 'chutes?

This will be our first time so hope it works. We will use a Single Lionel 180 brick wired to both tracks. Power on will start both tracks at the same time. The 18V will either propel or fry my Marx engines, but it should be fun.

Probably the only engines doing burnouts will be the ones without traction tires or magne-traction. Going from 0 to 18V should spin some drivers.
