My MTH AAR Box Car, 20-93358, came with this package of square plastic parts. Dumb question of the day: What are they? I've run into these parts before and just left them in the box that was filed away in my attic. Before this box gets put into cobweb storage like the others, I'm curious as to their purpose.

They are for adding Kaydee O scale couplers to the underside of the car if you don't like to use Lionel "Lobster Claw" couplers
Thanks. I guess they'll keep staying in the box, then. I was hoping it was something more purposeful for me, like when I discovered recently, after all these years, that kitchen cellophane wrap actually has little holes to punch in with your fingers on the ends to hold the wrap in place while you pull it out of the box 
They're for use with the hi-rail trucks already on the car. If you switch over to the MTH 2-rail trucks, the spacers aren't necessary.
