e unit question

a train i pick up yesterday had the e unit drum just fall apart it was in a 258 lionel train. just wondering if i need to pick up more then one. also are they the same as the latter drums. any one have a wire digram for for a 2689wx tender. i think i have all the parts but some of the wires are not connected on both ends
