I wish I took pics, but didn't think of it until now, but today I replaced the disk rectifiers with 40A diodes as well as 4 wire connecting posts on an extra ZW.  Tranz4mr's website (Tranz4mr’s ZW Page ) gave me the confidence to make these repairs - kudo's to him. Lots of easy to understand instructions there.

Total time involved? Only 20 minutes. I had previously replaced the line cord and rollers in this patient.

Did the same a few years back diodes and 1 post  along with replacing the carbon rollers by easily crushing them first then replace with new ones with rivet.

Thats whats nice about the postwar ZW's a little simple maintenance and they are good to go.

Love the age when things were meant to be fixed unlike some things nowadays where they either have to be fixed by expert or thrown away and replaced.

Agreed, just did a ZW i've had in a bin for years. Member helped and I replaced all the posts, which gave me a power reading once again. Silly Me, when I found it I tried to test quickly, not knowing that the rivets pulled out of the common bar , inside. With guidance, it now runs like NEW... and I feel like I accomplished something...... besides making a dent in my easy chair. (getting harder to sit now days, thought I needed more sit.. light weight training, right?) haha

Thanks
