So I have this 0-6-0 dockside switcher from the Alaska Steam Work Train set from Lionel. (6-30045) and their was this one day and I wasn’t paying attention to how much smoke fluid I was putting down the stack and it started to heat up and burn the wires up. I’m trying to fix this because it’s been a year since I last ran it. Now it doesn’t run at all. The lights and whistle work really well but it just doesn’t run forward or backwards. The smoke unit also stopped working. Did anyone else have this problem? And is their any parts for me to replace and fix this engine up? Is it to late to fix it?

Your smoke unit should look like this. Just disconnect that red wire wherever it's attached to the circuit board. There may be a plug you may have to cut it. I wouldn't recommend trying to unsolder unless you're comfortable soldering.  If the smoke unit / the resistor inside is shot, I would just cut the wire close to the Smoke unit so you'll have enough to work with if you decide to install a new one.
