I had a local "old timer" bring me an old engine to look at.
The motor was froze, so I pulled the armature and cleaned the shaft and bushings. Spins great now.

This wire was not connected, I assume I solder it to the terminal where the green fabric covered wire goes on top of the brush plate?

Brushes weren't bad- I'm going to polish the commutator a little before reassembly.
