Maybe a lot more could get done if I offered Lionel's CEO a chance to be "Big Jim" for a day. And, he wouldn't even have to be a member of any club!

If you have an interest in being in Lionel President Howard Hitchcock’s shoes (President & CEO of Lionel Trains), then you need to enter this contest.   Lionel will select a winner and provide transportation (continental US only) and hotel accommodations in Concord NC.  Now is your chance to run Lionel for a day.   This contest is open to LCCA members only.    So don’t miss out and submit your entry today!

What do Lionel Trains mean to you?

By being a member of Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA), we know you enjoy Lionel and have a passion for model trains. Now, what would you do if you were sitting in Howard Hitchcock's chair?

LCCA and Lionel have partnered to offer you the opportunity to be CEO of Lionel for a day. All you need to do is visit Lionel’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/LionelModelTrains), click the “LCCA CEO Contest” tab and answer the question “What do Lionel Trains mean to you?”

Entries are limited to 300 words.

The contest is open to legal residents of the United States residing in the 48 contiguous United States or District of Columbia.  You must be at least 13 years of age at the time of entry and members in good standing of the LCCA. You will need to include your LCCA membership number on the entry page for verification.

The Grand Prize Winner must be available for travel and to be “CEO For A Day” on a business day between January 4, 2016, and January 29, 2016.  If you are not available to travel during those dates, then you are not eligible.

The Grand Prize Winner and one guest will be awarded travel to Lionel headquarters in Concord, N.C. to include airfare, two night hotel accommodations and transportation to hotel and Lionel offices.

Entries must be complete and submitted by 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time) September 30, 2015. After the entry period closes, a panel of judges will review and evaluate the essays and select one Grand Prize Winner. Judges will evaluate essays on the basis of creativity and perceived fit with the Lionel brand.

Good Luck to All.

Lionel

Tim, as a customer, I would like to see lower prices too.  However, Guggenheim invested in Lionel as a business to make a profit and return on their investment. This  is the case for all for-profit businesses.   I think if you were CEO for the day, you may learn more about their cost to produce these trains, their manufacturing processes, market condition for selling prices etc.  You would get a better understanding of the train business from a different perspective.   It would be educational, but most of all fun!  This is everyone's chance to voice their opinions directly to Lionel.   There are no shortage of opinions amongst us hobbyist.  Now is your time to express them in a positive way and possibly win a free trip to Lionel headquarters in Concord NC.  Please consider entering this contest.   Are you a member of the LCCA?
