The new Lionel J3a Hudson is my first Legacy engine that did  not include an orange memory module. I have been trying to muddle through the Legacy Manual  in an effort to understand the  Lionel instructions on how to manually enter the Legacy engine info. I have only  been able to ID the engine number as 16 (the old TMCC way using the cab 2)  and ID the engine as Steam. I cannot figure out how to add the NAME, "Legacy engine" , and Railsounds type. Does the engine have to be powered up and  set in program mode when manually entering the information needed to make the cab 2 see the engine as a Legacy engine?  Is there some easy to follow step by step instructions available that might clearly describe how to enter the information necessary to  make my Hudson run as a Legacy engine?

Between the non existent 9v battery terminal / RS drop out on switches and now this PIA trying to enter the Legacy info manually is causing buyer's remorse to set in. And no, I'm not going to add a sensor track to my  GarGraves layout.

HELP and thanks in advance for your assistance.

Well I  need to correct my above  post. The cab number is 5413, not 5416 - not sure how I  screwed that up🤫

This may have been discussed earlier when these Hudson’s started to arriving in early December. According to the 2019 Lionel catalog cab 5413 was supposed to have a mix of Boxpok and Disk drivers.

Here is a picture of my 5413. To my untrained eye all of the drivers appear to be Boxpok drivers
Am I correct? I don’t see a Disc driver here.

 Thanks,
