I cut the roof walks using my laser. It’s nice because I don’t need to modify something generic, but can tailor it to exactly what I need. I might offer these down the road as just a parts kit. Sort of along the lines of an old Ambroid/Quality Craft kit, but plastic, and most of the cutting done already. I’m building a few more for myself first and will need to take some pictures or video of the steps.
Have you thought about making the riveted sides once you get the welded sides down pat? I would paint one Conrail for the transition plus Conrail used them in MOW. Love the roof walks!!!
The Cherry Valley is very lucky to have Jim in our club. Jim is a master carpenter contractor and has the proper equipment to produce a number of items for production.
Jim,I hope I was to one to inspire you to do the G39 ore jennies. Just add the Crown Trucks from Atlas or RY models, decals by John Franz.
And you just can't have just one !!! 24 or 36 would make a neat unit train in PRR/PC/CR era.
