Does anyone repair the ERR cruise lite boards?

It depends on what happened to it.  My experience has been the most common issue is cooking the motor driver FET's.  If they didn't get hot enough to destroy the traces on the PCB, it's possible to replace them, I've rescued a few of these that way.  Since the CC-Lite is unobtainium, it's worthwhile trying to revive them.

Ray, it really depends on what is wrong with it whether it's repairable.  If it's something like the microprocessor, it's probably toast, you don't have the code to put back into a new one.  I am keeping a dead CC-Lite around because it cooked the FET's so bad that it wrecked the board, I figure if I ever get one that looks like the uP died, I can lift it off this one and see if I can revive it.

Instead of bolting the board down in some manner use double sided tape and stick the board somewhere on the chassie.   problem is the side that has the solder joints has a sharp  points on them   these will stick through the tape and can touch the metal chassie create a short.   I knew this but it had been so long since I had done on I forgot.....soluation is to double layer the tape and NO problems.  Can I send the lite board to you  and see if you can do anything with it?

Regards

Jackie

I will send Gunnerjohn the board.......if it unrepairable I'll give it to Gunnerjohn for parts.  I am going with commander 2 from now on.    Somewhat cheaper and no receiver board needed.

Gunnerjohn  can you send me your address......jmeade21@hughes.net

I also contacted 3rd rail and I was told that they do not repair cruise lite boards.... they throw them in the junk bin........

Bought a sound board from 3rd rail .......nice improvement.... a plastic tray for the sound board to rest in with mounting brackets.........Also 3rd rail no longer includes wiring harness to work with cruise lite boards.  Lucky I had one.

As I said before I purchased a N&W Aux. tender body shell from River Rasin.    Boy!  they are really NICE people........

Regards everyone

Jackie
