I have successfully installed an ERR kit in a Williams ten wheeler (no simple task in a small tender). After programming, it worked just fine. Then I noticed that I had duplicate ID numbers. I attempted to change the ID for the new engine, following the steps in the TMCC/Legacy handbook. I can't seem to make the engine forget the old ID and adopt the new. I think I am following the instructions correctly. They don't seem to be hard to interpret. Now, I think I am at the point where the engine doesn't know what its ID is. Is there a simple procedure to correct this problem?

Done, and done! Turns out that one pin in the female plug at the engine was short and does not make unless attention is given to setting the plug all the way in and checking its position frequently. Thanks for all suggestions. Whether they solve to problem directly on not, they make a person go over things with fresh eyes and attention.
