Ertl 2803 1:43 scale diecast model of the 1949 Ford Coupe.
This is a close replica of the 1949 Ford coupe. The diecast model has rubber tires and interior details. The model would make a nice addition to an O scale model railroad scene. This model is the green painted version.

The 1949 Ford was the first all-new automobile design introduced by the Big Three after WWII, civilian production having been suspended during the war. The 1946-1948 models from Ford, GM, and Chrysler being updates of their pre-war models. Popularly called the "Shoebox Ford", the 1949 Ford is credited both with saving Ford and ushering in modern streamlined car design with changes such as integrated fenders and more . The design would continue through the 1951 model year.
