According to a German book "Lexicon Blech Spielzeug" Bing stopped using Made in Bavaria in 1914; I assume that Bub also stopped using this at the same time and changed to Made in Germany. Further I had a look at the very nice pictures of your Bub loco at the EL Layout thread and to me this loco looks like a loco from around 1910. 




Yes, plenty of vintage Japanese tinplate toy companies from the 1960s and 1970s, including friction-driven trains...
