**EXCLUSIVE** LCT 400E & 4-Car Comet Sets - SIDETRACK HOBBIES

We have seen several posts here on the forum, and fielded some calls about upcoming LCT/MTH STD Gauge tinplate sets in development.

Here are the basics…MTH wants to produce a limited run of 400e/Comet Car sets. In order to meet minimum manufacturing quantities, they offered select dealers an opportunity to participate.

At Sidetrack Hobbies, we are taking this opportunity to bring four (4) exclusive sets to market. We want to do something special….roads never done in tinplate….and roads/liveries that have meaning to us. These sets include:

• Chesapeake & Ohio
• Chicago & Northwestern
• Union Pacific (Commemorating the Golden Spike 150th Anniversary in 2019)
• Christmas

Our sets are exclusive to Sidetrack Hobbies and limited to (10) locomotive & (10) matching 4-Comet car sets in each livery. These will be sold as a complete set only.

In addition to our sets, a handful of dealers have agreed in principle to market and sell other specialty sets. While still in development, these sets include:

Southern (Green)
Baltimore & Ohio
Pennsylvania (Brown)
Two-Tone Blue w/Brass Trim
US Army
Santa Fe (Black)

Contact your local/regional (or favorite) tinplate dealer to see if they are participating.
(Note: We will also be selling a few of these other non-exclusive sets.)

We are working with MTH daily on design/production to ensure these sets become a reality. We hope you will be as excited about these sets as we are.

More information will become available as we work out the details with MTH.

As MTHs largest tinplate dealer, we look forward to serving your Std-gauge and O-gauge tinplate needs. And as always, if you have any questions, please contact us.

Hey Al,

Great news; Please put me down for the Santa Fe set.

Mark

Mark,

The Santa Fe's are available from Pat Trains.  Those are exclusive to his store.

We are still working on final numbers of the other sets we will be ordering...B&O, Southern, etc.

Al,

Exciting news for sure!

Any pics yet for the exclusive sets that SideTrack will offer?  Or pics for the non-exclusive sets? What about pricing for the complete sets?

From a color/paint perspective, what would be the difference between the two-tone blue/brass trim version and the Blue Comet/brass trim version?  Will LCT/MTH be coming out with a new Blue Comet/brass trim version as well?

Looking forward to your reply.

We are still working on tweaking the sets...and will release images once the cars are finished.  The engineering drawings will not do these sets justice.  Pricing is still TBD.

Two-tone blue/brass is a Blue Comet configuration with brass trim.  Many people have asked for this.

C&O will be dark blue and yellow.

CNW will be dark green and yellow

UP will be gray with yellow cars.

Christmas will be red with green trim.

We will keep everyone informed as this process unfolds.

Thanks

Al,

Thanks for getting back to me with the additional info.  Will SideTrack be selling the two-tone blue/brass trim, chrome and Santa Fe versions?

We will be selling the blue/brass along with a few others.  Not the Santa Fe.

Thanks to all who have already pre-ordered our new, exclusive STD-gauge 400e/Comet sets.

Here are some updated catalog images.  These turned out well.

We are also offering the newly released 263e/2600 sets for $749 for O-gaugers.

Let us know if you have questions about the new sets, or anything else tinplate related.

Thanks again,
